Great Neck Wrestling Club

K - 5th Grade Wrestling Club

Our K - 5th Grade Wrestling Club is in action from September 11, 2017, through March 28, 2018.   Coaches will focus on introducing new wrestlers to the great sport of wrestling, teaching the basics such as stance, position, and scoring while advancing the more seasoned wrestlers to a higher level of technique, conditioning and confidence and sportsmanship. Coached by veteran coach Corey Williams, Chad McPhatter, Adam Watson and a strong team of former local wrestlers, the K-5 club will lay the foundation for a successful future both on and off the wrestling mat.

6th - 8th Grade Wrestling Club

The 6th - 8th Grade Wrestling Club (Middle School Club) continues on nearly a year-round basis.  Starting on Monday, April 17, 2017 and continuing until approximately Wednesday, March 28, 2018.  Club practices are generally held on Monday and Wednesdays from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at Cox HS wrestling room.  However, changes in practice times days and locations will occur throughout the season. Middle School Club will focus on drilling, technique, conditioning, sportsmanship and the mental toughness that wrestling requires.  Coached by Geoff Head, Collin Dozier, Brett Kassir and a host of former local wrestlers, the Middle School Club is well positioned to ready these young wrestlers for the next step at the high school level.

9th - 12th Grade Wrestling Club

The 9th - 12th Grade Wrestling Club (High School) season runs from Monday, April 17, 2017 to approximately Wednesday, November 8, 2017.   Coached by Collin Dozier, Geoff Head, Adam Watson and Ross Damon.  High School Club practices will challenge even the most skilled wrestlers while advancing the technique and skills and confidence of the more novice wrestlers.   Practices will be physically and mentally challenging.  Wrestlers will be in a competitive environment every practice and can expect to be pushed by the coaching staff.  Conditioning, technique, sportsmanship, confidence and a physical approach to wrestling will be a major focus.  Both Folkstyle and Freestyle wrestling will be instructed.  Practice times and dates and location may change through the course of the season.

Seven Cities Elite Wrestling

Great Neck Wrestling Club is proud to introduce Seven Cities Elite Wrestling!  This new arm of the GNWC will begin on Thursday, April 20th and continue through October 2017.  Currently, practices will be held on Thursdays from 6:00 to 7:30 and Saturdays 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  "Elite" means just that.  Seven Cities will focus on wrestlers ready to take their skills to the next level and prepare for state and national competition.  Wrestlers will experience a high energy environment that will challenge even the most seasoned high school wrestler.  Coached by Corey Williams, Chad McPhatter, Adam Watson and a huge talent pool of former local wrestlers, Seven Cities Elite will put Southeastern Virgina Wrestling back on the map!
